Program Overview

College of The Albemarle’s (COA) Associate in Engineering program gives you the opportunity to complete the first two years of a four-year engineering degree at COA.

The degree plan includes required general education and prerequisite courses that are acceptable to all state funded Bachelor of Engineering programs. Students who follow the degree progression plan will meet the entrance requirements at all of the North Carolina public Bachelor of Science Engineering programs. Associate in Engineering graduates may then apply to any of these programs without taking additional and sometimes duplicate courses. Admission to Engineering programs is highly competitive and admission is not guaranteed.

Engineering Pathways

Engineering Pathways is a joint project between the engineering programs of the North Carolina Community College System and the University of North Carolina (UNC), designed to create a seamless transition between the COA and UNC engineering programs.
